Anderson-Battistone Save Four Match Points

Kevin Anderson and Brian Battistone saved four match points in the Match Tie-break to beat British duo Jamie Delgado and Jonathan Marray 76(3), 5-7, 13-11 on Tuesday at the Estoril Open.

Delgado and Marray squandered match points at 9-7, 10-9 and 11-10 in the Match Tie-break to love in just over two hours.

Battistone, who jumps into his serve and plays with a two-handed racquet, and Anderson hit six aces but could only convert one of eight break point opportunities.

Later in the day, top seeds Rohan Bopanna and Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi beat Scott Lipsky and Travis Rettenmaier 7-6(1), 6-4 in 80 minutes, having hit nine aces and saving all six break points they faced.

The Indian-Pakistani team were then granted a walkover into the semi-finals, following an lower back injury to Pablo Andujar, who was partnering fellow Spaniard Daniel Gimeno-Traver.

In the women's doubles, Alisa Kleybanova and Galina Voskoboeva also won 11-9 in a Match Tie-break, splitting the opening two sets by 6-0 score-lines against Ipek Senoglu and Johanna Larsson, in a match that lasted 66 minutes. 

They go onto challenge fourth seed Kristina Barrois and Jasmin Woehr, who cruised past Chinese pair Shengnam Sun and Yi-Fan Xu 6-1, 6-3 in just 55 minutes.
