Kleybanova To Face Govortsova First Up

Top seed Alisa Kleybanova, one of six players in the Top 50 of the WTA Rankings, will face Olga Govortsova in the Estoril Open first round.

Tournament Director Joao Lagos, second seed Jarmila Gajdosova and Portuguese wild card Maria Joao Koehler took part in the WTA draw ceremony on Saturday afternoon.

World No. 25 Kleybanova could meet sixth-seeded Russian compatriot Elena Vesnina, who plays wild card Barbara Luz first-up, in the last eight. Kleybanova lost to Petra Cetkovska in the first round on her tournament debut in 2008.

View Estoril Open Draws

Second seed Jarmila Gajdosova, a semi-finalist last year (l. to Parra Santonja), has been drawn to meet World No. 92 Renata Voracova of the Czech Republic in the first round. The Australian could challenge fifth seed Bethanie Mattek-Sands in the quarter-finals. Mattek-Sands first faces Monica Niculescu.

Third seed Klara Zakopalova will be hoping to emulate her 2008 performance in her fifth Estoril Open campaign. Three years ago, the Czech lost to Maria Kirilenko in the semi-finals. Zakopalova will meet a qualifier in the first round.

Fourth seed and World No. 37 Anastasija Sevastova will face Urszula Radwanska.

Seventh seed Jie Zheng beat her compatriot Na Li 6-7(5), 7-5 retired in the 2006 title match, which marked the first all-Chinese final in WTA history. She will meet Romina Oprandi in the first round.

Eighth seed Greta Arn, who captured the 2007 title over Victoria Azarenka 2-6, 6-1, 7-6(3), takes on local wild card Koehler.
