Top seed Conchita Martinez Granados and No. 7 seed Sandra Kloesel were knocked out in second round qualifying at the Estoril Open on Sunday.
Martinez Granados, ranked No. 102 on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour, lost 6-7(5), 6-4, 6-2 to Kristina Barrois of Germany. Kloesel succumbed to Argentine Natalia Gussoni 2-6, 6-3, 6-3.
Barrois will now play No. 6 seed Victoria Azarenka in the qualification round first match on Centralito at 11:00am on Monday.
Gussoni, ranked No. 167 on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour, will compete against Ukrainian Yulia Beygelzimer, ranked 21 places higher, on Court 2 Monday.
Nathalie Grandin will take on No. 5 seed Katerina Bohmova of the Czech Republic, after a 6-4, 7-5 win over Barbora Strycova. Bohmova struggled past Maria Jose Argeri 6-7(7), 6-0, 6-3.
Indian Shikha Uberoi meets Ana Vrljic of Croatia Monday for a place in the main draw.
